The guided tours take place on Sundays at 11:30 (unless other events are taking place at the same time). They are included in the admission to the exhibitions and are therefore free of charge. Please find an overview of all guided tours on our event overview page. In German.
Workshop: Cyanotype – The Classic Blueprint Process
In this workshop, participants immerse themselves in the historic fine printing process cyanotype, which still inspires today. John Herschel developed this unique technique in 1842 in an attempt to find a method to produce durable photographic images. Participants are introduced to the process and later expose and develop their own motif. With the help of tips and tricks they will be able to alienate or colour the images.
The workshop requires a digital negative – either a scanned negative or a digitally inverted photograph. Participants will be contacted in advance by email and asked to send in such a digital negative or a normal digital image, which will then be processed by the workshop leader. Black and white images with clear contrast gradations are best suited, fine grey gradients are only roughly reproduced.

Workshop: Photogram – Creating with Light
Light reflections, shadow plays, pin sharp silhouettes and superimpositions: Photograms are images that are created in the darkroom without a camera. All that is needed is light, photographic paper and liquids to develop the images. With the help of creative ideas and different materials such as figurines, stencils or various objects interesting image compositions are created.

Photo Stories: An Offer for People with Dementia and Their Relatives
This event encourages people with dementia to creatively engage with photography and storytelling. Instead of relying on memory, the focus is on imagination that knows no right or wrong. Skills – often believed to be lost – are made visible and audible during the museum visit. In addition, this method stimulates communication between participants and relatives. Difficulties in remembering and word finding disorder are considered positive and not a barrier to participation.
