Fotomuseum Winterthur is taking the opportunity presented by the institution’s thirtieth anniversary to examine its own collection, with a selection of artworks by 19 photographers and artists providing an insight into the museum’s collecting activities. The exhibition homes in on the collection’s idiosyncrasies, distinctive qualities and thematic focuses as well as the variety of different factors influencing its (progressive) development – while also scrutinising museum collecting practices per se.
On the same evening, Fotostiftung Schweiz celebrates the opening of the exhibition Jakob Tuggener – The 4 Seasons.
Please note: Due to the renovation of Fotomuseum Winterthur, the exhibition will be shown in the spaces of Fotostiftung Schweiz at Grüzenstrasse 45, where the opening will take place as well.
