“Corpo/Real” comprises a selection of screenshots that explore the relation between the body and the image in Hollywood cinema. In an age of increasing mediation, movies reflect on cultural anxieties, premonitions and fantasies of a post-human materiality. The Hollywood scenarios not only question the reality of the human body but also the changing nature of the image as it mutates from analogue into electronic and digital forms. The visual selection spans from virtual figures turned flesh to hybrid, cyborg-like bodies, from human flesh reduced to data and pixels and modelled on screens to the scars and traces of physical pains as the only possible unmediated truth.
