Product description

Can ghosts be detected using Wi-Fi signals, sensors or artificial intelligence?

As part of the accompanying programme for the exhibition Shadow Creatures – FromSpirit Photography to the Ghosts of the Algorithm, students from the MA in Interaction Design at SUPSI present their experimental ghost detectors. Inspired by nineteenth-century spirit photography, they have developed devices that translate invisible signals and changes in our surroundings into images, light, sound or vibrations.

During the event, the students will present their projects and invite visitors to try out the devices themselves. The event also raises questions about how technological systems shape our perception: When does a signal become a ghostly apparition? And might machines perceive something that remains hidden from us?

The event will be held in English.
