Artist Talk with Ester Vonplon

As part of a guided tour of the exhibition, Swiss photographer Ester Vonplon offers insights into her artistic practice. In recent years, she has increasingly devoted her artistic practice to exploring lesser-known Swiss landscapes in her immediate surroundings, approaching nature as a photographic experiential space. Through intense colours and experimental photographic processes, her works invite viewers to perceive and experience landscape anew.

In the subsequent Q&A with Nadine Wietlisbach, Director and Curator of Fotomuseum Winterthur, Ester Vonplon will discuss key themes of her artistic practice as well as her specific photographic working methods. The event will also include the presentation of the accompanying bilingual publication, featuring texts by Clara Bolin, Walter Moser and Nadine Wietlisbach, published by Christoph Merian Verlag.

The event takes place in the context of the exhibition Ester Vonplon – Wingbeat and forms part of the Photographic Encounters format, within which the exhibition and the publication were realised. The format was initiated by the Christoph Merian Foundation and is enabled by the Geissmann Scholarship for Photography.

The conversation will be held in German.
