Although a painter first and foremost, Antje Dorn has always worked with photography as well. She creates images that are as compelling in content and form as they are far removed from what might be deemed technically ‘good’. Her photographs have also been used as a source of inspiration: an exhibition of the permanent collection at Folkwang Museum Essen was correlated to the lurid colours in Dorn’s photograpic work.
