“Berlin Senators” was a work commissioned by Fotomuseum Winterthur for the “Remake Berlin” exhibition (2000). Here, in a nod to seventeenth-century Dutch history painting, the photographic image becomes a vehicle for self-projection and representation. The image of the politicians oscillates confusingly between a portrayal of personal identity and a portrayal of temporary power.
