Workshop: Networked Photography – Metadata, Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence
The status of photography in our everyday lives has changed dramatically with the advent of digital cameras and smartphones. In the workshop we tackle important questions relating to photography. How are we visible online? What is metadata? Where is it hidden and what can it do? How do algorithms control and alter the visibility of images? What is machine learning and is artificial intelligence biased? Via a mix of lecture inputs, group activities and open discussions, we establish a specific link with photography and thus with contemporary questions of visual politics.
