In a tour of the exhibition with net activist Nikki Böhler, media and communication scientist Franziska Oehmer-Pedrazzi and co-curator Doris Gassert, we will trace the mechanisms of seduction in digital spaces. How do memes, emojis or pixelated screenshots unfold their seductive powers to not only provoke feelings, but to shape social opinions or influence political discourse? Together, we will discuss visual strategies, decode subliminal messages and unravel the complex and invisible mechanisms of online networks that reinforce the power of images.
The event takes place in German.
Admission: CHF 12.– (for members and reduced CHF 10.–), plus exhibition admission

The Lure of the Image. The show explores contemporary digital forms of photography and their seductive powers: How do images bait or beguile us as they circulate online? How do they compel, capture or control us? Various artistic positions engage with visual phenomena that serve as vehicles for online communication, criticism and humour, highlighting the crucial role images play in shaping our social, cultural and political landscapes.
