Project presentation: «You Must Not Call It Photography If This Expression Hurts You – a Manifesto» with Katrina Sluis and Jon Uriarte

Many photography institutions have preferred to shy away from the current transformations of the medium, and few are ready to provide the resources that help us navigate photography’s “mutations” today. Katrina Sluis, Adjunct Research Curator at The Photographers’ Gallery in London and Jon Uriarte, Artistic Director of DONE Festival at Foto Colectania in Barcelona join the curators of SITUATIONS to conceive this playful manual, experimental map and subversive manifesto of photography for the extreme present. In this evening event the authors of this ongoing project will present the initial ideas behind «You Must Not Call It Photography If This Expression Hurts You» - a title referring to one of John Cage’s statements.

The event will take place in English in the exhibition SITUATIONS/Photo Text Data (Grüzenstrasse 45).
