As part of the exhibition One Another – Kara Springer and the Collection of Fotomuseum Winterthur, this artist talk offers exclusive insights into Kara Springer’s artistic practice. In conversation with Alessandra Nappo, curator of the collection at Fotomuseum Winterthur, the artist will discuss current themes in her work, her artistic trajectory, and her dialogue with the museum’s collection.
Kara Springer (b. 1980, Barbados; lives in Toronto and New York) explores power structures, diasporic experiences, and the relationship between humans and nature in her multimedia practice, which spans photography, sculpture, and site-specific installations. Mountains frequently appear in her work as symbolic sites of refuge and resistance.
