The urban and late-Modernist subject matter of this artist is often underpinned by a sense of universality, either in the housing blocks of her hometown of Berlin, the industrial estates of Rotterdam or the shop windows of Paris. It is not the superficial description of a place that she aims for, but the photographic imaging of structures, orders and hierarchies concealed in everyday life.
