Serge Fruehauf’s series of photographs, Architectures, observe coincidences with casual precision: they are of planned or deliberate constellations of buildings that form bland monstrosities. Ugly hybrids of everyday architecture they speak a stammering, gurgling, stuttering language of form, a concrete lapsus linguae – inadvertent, helpless collision-architecture. Fruehauf has photographed them so casually that he has just managed to avoid any assumption that his pictures might have some hidden agenda.
