Mass shows people going about their everyday lives: dressing, undressing, bending down, taking a nap. In keeping with these ‘in-between moments’ she shows only fragments of action at a steep upward or downward angle. Yet instead of adding a more dynamic feel, these fragmented layers seem to freeze time and motion, bringing them to a standstill. These settings give another, different, view of everyday reality, transforming the run-of-the-mill into something special, enigmatically real and multi-faceted.
