Yoshiko Seino’s The Sign of Life is a remarkable vision of contemporary Japanese landscape. Signs of surviving nature meld with signs of lifelessness, ancient history with twentieth-century technology, beauty with horror – such as the signs of nature after a typhoon or an earthquake.
