Color Film Series at Kino Cameo: «Gone with the Wind»

This autumn Kino Cameo dedicates a film series to color film. In October and November, four film classics will be shown, presenting Technicolor's wonderful world of color nuances. The screening of Victor Fleming's legendary «Gone with the Wind» (USA 1939) – the opening event on 25.10.2019 – is hosted in cooperation with Fotomuseum Winterthur and The Short Film Festival of Switzerland.

«Gone with the Wind» is a melodrama about the national trauma of the American Civil War and the love between the beautiful but egoistic landlady Scarlett and the war profiteer Rhett Butler, played by Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable. Their love became a symbol for the archetypal couple in American cinema. The look of «Gone with the Wind», a film pre-designed on a painted storyboard in the most glorious Technicolor, recalls the lavish and supposedly carefree way of life of the white American South.
