Demo-Talk: Virtual Reality.

Nicolas Vermot-Petit-Outhenin in conversation with game designers Daniel Gonçalves and Patrik Toth about their game The Cathartic Escape (in German)

Ever since the Commodore 64 arrived in homes in the 1980s, video games have been some of the most popular leisure activities for children and teenagers. Now VR headsets have been commercially available for several years, generating excitement over the possibility of immersion in virtual worlds. Nicolas Vermot-Petit-Outhenin will talk to two young game designers, Daniel Gonçalves and Patrik Toth, about what can and cannot be experienced in today’s virtual realities. Discussion will center on The Cathartic Escape (2017), a game developed by Gonçalves and Toth that involves not only VR glasses but also a motion-capture system. After the conversation, all video-game enthusiasts will have a chance to play The Cathartic Escape.
