Edwin Land wurde 1943 von seiner kleinen Tochter gefragt, warum sie ein eben aufgenommenes Foto nicht sofort sehen könne. Eine Stunde später hatte der amerikanische Forscher und Erfinder die technischen Grundlagen entwickelt, um diesen scheinbar unmöglichen Wunsch zu realisieren. Damit begann die Geschichte der Polaroid-Sofortbildfotografie. Bald erkannten auch viele Künstler_innen die neuen aufregenden Möglichkeiten: Etwa wenn David Hockney ein Stilllebenmosaik aus einzelnen Fotos schuf, Charles Eames geometrische Muster festhielt, Dennis Hopper Farbstudien in LA betrieb, Robert Mapplethorpe Aktselbstporträts machte. Tausende Polaroidfotografien aus den Händen von Künstler_innen prägten die Kunstwelt im späten 20. Jahrhundert.

Return policy

The product return period is 30 days from the date the product was received. Excluded from this are memberships, vouchers and e-tickets, which cannot be returned.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer returns in the following cases:
– For damaged items, unless they have already been received damaged.
– If accessories are missing.
– If the return period has passed.

Provided the product can be returned, the full price will be refunded.

Postage costs for returning items are generally paid by the sender. After individual examination, the return costs may be borne by the Fotomuseum Winterthur.
