Turntable/Talks: Sam Mumenthaler on Layola Records «Total Records – Vinyl & Photography»

From 1964–68, Layola Records was one of the hubs of Swiss beat music. Bands such as The Sevens, The 5 Dorados or the Savages released their first records with Lucerne’s beat label, founded by John Lay. At 5 p.m. music expert Sam Mumenthaler and Chista Helbling, music editor at Radio Stadtfilter, will talk about Switzerland's beat music scene and the short but lively history of Layola (the talk will be in German). From 3 p.m. he will be working the turntables in the exhibition space to conjure the appropriate sound.
