Slavica Perkovic’s photographs were first presented in lightboxes at the Dirty Windows Gallery in a Berlin shopping mall. The shots of young women dressed up in a variety of guises triggered conflicting reactions among the public. Slavica presents herself as the object twice over — in both text and image — while at the same time, precisely because of this form of presentation, retaining control of the way she is perceived.
